WhatsApp is reportedly developing a new feature that could allow users to proofread, rephrase, and rewrite their messages in different styles.
According to a report by Android Authority, the latest beta version (v2.25.8.5) contains code suggesting that the messaging platform is experimenting with an AI-powered text-editing tool that will function within the chat box.

The tool will introduce a new “pencil” icon above the send button. When tapped, users will be able to modify their text in various ways before sending a message.
The AI-powered text editor is expected to offer different tone and style options, including ‘supportive,’ ‘funny,’ ‘puns,’ ‘sarcastic,’ ‘rephrase,’ ‘sad,’ and ‘proofread.’
The proofreading function will correct spelling and grammar errors, while other options will modify the message’s tone or style.
WhatsApp is also reportedly testing an AI-powered profile photo generator.
According to WABetaInfo, this feature will allow users to create personalized profile pictures using artificial intelligence. The rollout has already begun for select beta testers.
While these features are still under development, their potential launch could significantly enhance user experience by making conversations more dynamic and personalized.
