A poll on the 2027 Likoni parliamentary race has recorded varying levels of support for eight named contenders, including current MP Mishi Mboko, Mwanahamisi Hamadi and Khamis Domoko, according to final results released by Mwelekeo Insights.

The results were published on Thursday, October 29, 2026 and they show the share of responses recorded for each name, but do not establish how closely the participants reflect all registered voters in Likoni. The figures are not an election result or a forecast of results.

Khamis Domoko received 14 per cent. Mbaruku Vyakweli recorded 11.5 per cent, Miraj Abdillah 7.1 per cent, Mishi Mboko 19 per cent, Mohamed Mwahima 8.5 per cent and Mwanahamisi Hamadi 17.4 per cent. Nickson Wamalwa had 11.3 per cent, while Suleiman Mwakisanga recorded 9.8 per cent. The category marked “Others” accounted for 1.4 per cent.

Poll captures early political interest

The figures provide a snapshot of the names attracting attention in Likoni as politicians position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election. The poll does not establish who will secure party tickets or win the parliamentary seat.

Mboko is the incumbent MP and has featured in parliamentary discussions on Coast issues, including investment in the blue economy. She has called for stronger support for coastal communities.

Its results page does not state how participants were recruited, their demographic profile or whether responses were weighted to reflect Likoni’s electorate. It also does not explain how long voting remained open.

The poll comes as Coast leaders discuss the region’s political position ahead of 2027, including efforts to strengthen voter registration and influence in national politics. Recent mobilisation by Coast leaders has featured in the wider election conversation.

The final results list eight named contenders and the “Others” category. They show responses recorded on the platform, while the official election will determine who represents Likoni in Parliament.
