Kenyan content creator and film director Trevor has sparked online conversation after sharing what he believes would be the ultimate Kenyan experiences for global YouTube star and streamer IShowSpeed ahead of his visit to the country.
In a post shared on his social media platforms, Trevor described himself as a content strategist familiar with IShowSpeed’s brand, energy, and style of entertainment. He explained that Kenya offers unique experiences that align perfectly with the streamer’s high energy personality while also showcasing the country’s culture, creativity, and everyday life to a global audience.
Among the key experiences Trevor highlighted is a potential race with Africa’s fastest sprinter, Ferdinand Omanyala. Given IShowSpeed’s love for competition and physical challenges, Trevor suggested that such a moment would captivate fans both locally and internationally.
He also proposed a traditional Maasai welcome dance, noting that it would give Speed a chance to experience Kenya’s cultural heritage firsthand. According to Trevor, this would help present an authentic image of Kenyan traditions to millions of viewers around the world.

Another experience on the list was participating in a TikTok challenge with kids from Mathare. Trevor said this would reflect the creativity, energy, and talent found in Nairobi’s informal settlements while fitting naturally into Speed’s interactive and playful content style. The suggestion has since generated mixed reactions online, with some praising the exposure and others urging sensitivity.
Food and entertainment featured prominently in Trevor’s recommendations. He suggested that Speed should sample meals prepared by popular roaming chefs, try Kenyan street food, and take part in traditional dances such as Isikuti, which are deeply rooted in local communities.
Trevor also pointed out the iconic Nganya matatu experience as a must do. Matatus are a defining part of Nairobi’s transport culture, known for loud music, artistic designs, and a lively atmosphere that he believes would resonate with Speed’s energetic persona.

Other proposed activities included interactions with viral Gen Z personalities, a raw city tour capturing the true essence of Nairobi, and visits to Nairobi National Park and other destinations that highlight Kenya’s rare blend of wildlife and urban life.
Many Kenyans have welcomed the ideas, saying they reflect the country’s vibrant culture and youthful spirit, while others emphasized the need for respectful and responsible representation.
