Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly Robert Alai has been accused of disrupting a public participation meeting in Nairobi and assaulting two female government chiefs who were subsequently hospitalised with injuries.

Videos circulating on social media showed chaotic scenes at the outdoor meeting in Kileleshwa, with Alai seen confronting officials and security officers as plastic chairs lay scattered and residents watched.

Kileleshwa Chief Joyline and Kilimani Chief Catherine, both grassroots representatives of the Office of the President, were reportedly injured during the altercation and taken to Nairobi Women’s Hospital, according to witnesses and local activists.

No immediate statement was issued by Alai, Nairobi police, or the Interior Ministry following the incident.

Alai, widely known for his active social media presence, has previously faced accusations linked to violent confrontations, including claims tied to a separate restaurant incident earlier this year.

Reaction on X was swift, with some users condemning the alleged assault on female civil servants as an attack on state authority, while others questioned how security handled the situation at the event.

Chiefs in Kenya serve as administrative officers under the national government, often coordinating public consultations on development projects and security matters.
