Nick Mararo’s political star shines as he takes commanding lead in Nyeri 2027 Senate race poll
Jubilee politician Nick Mararo has emerged as the dominant contender in the Nyeri 2027 Senate race poll, securing 43.1 per cent and establishing a commanding lead over prominent political figures competing for the county’s senatorial seat.
The results, released by Mwelekeo Insights and reviewed on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, place Mararo ahead of King’ori Wanjohi, Kabando wa Kabando, Governor Mutahi Kahiga and other politicians seeking to shape Nyeri’s political future.
Mararo dominates Nyeri race
Mararo’s 43.1 per cent places him 25.8 percentage points ahead of his closest challenger, King’ori Wanjohi of DCP, who secured 17.3 per cent.
Former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando follows in third position with 15.7 per cent, while Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, listed under UDA, takes fourth place with 8.3 per cent.
Duncan Gituanja of DCP comes fifth with 7.6 per cent, followed by former Nyeri Woman Representative Priscillah Nyokabi at 4.6 per cent. Other candidates collectively account for 3.4 per cent.
Mararo’s performance is particularly striking because his 43.1 per cent exceeds the combined 33 per cent recorded by Wanjohi and Kabando, his two closest competitors.

The latest figures strengthen Mararo’s political profile as the contest for Nyeri’s Senate seat attracts attention ahead of the 2027 General Election.
His first-place finish adds to the visibility of his senatorial ambitions and provides a significant boost to his public image in a race featuring established political figures.
Mararo’s political star rises
Mararo’s commanding performance places the Jubilee politician at the centre of Nyeri’s emerging 2027 political conversation.
The poll gives him a clear advantage in the published rankings, with none of his individually listed competitors reaching even half of his 43.1 per cent share.
His position is also significant for Jubilee, which secures the top ranking despite facing competition from politicians associated with DCP and UDA.
While three DCP politicians feature among the leading candidates, Mararo stands ahead of each by a substantial margin.
The results offer Mararo an opportunity to build on his growing public profile, strengthen his political organisation and expand engagement with voters across Nyeri County.
His performance also sets an important benchmark for his competitors, who must contend with his substantial lead in the published results.
With attention increasingly turning towards the 2027 election, Mararo’s showing provides a strong foundation for communicating his political ambitions and positioning himself as a leading voice in the county’s Senate contest.
The results place Mararo firmly at the top of the Nyeri County Senatorial Poll conducted by Mwelekeo Insights.
