Blogger Maverick Aoko has told Kenyans to reject the idea of dialogue that was suggested by ODM leader Raila Odinga. Aoko said leaders are using the word dialogue to hide painful truths and silence voices that are speaking out.
Raila Odinga had recently called for what he called an intergenerational meeting. He said it would help the country address the issues raised by the Gen Zs, who have been protesting across the country. The young people are angry about police killings, high taxes, missing persons and many other problems that affect their future.
But Aoko is not buying that idea. She believes that the so-called dialogue is a trick to make people forget the bloodshed and pain that has happened. She spoke especially about the case of blogger and teacher Albert Ojwang who was found dead inside a cell at Central Police Station in Nairobi day, after being arrested in Kokwanyo District in Kabondo Kasipul in Homa Bay over claims of publishing info leaking DIG Eliud Lagat to a syndicate of corruption in the NPS.
Before his death, Ojwang had written that Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat was the “lord of corruption” in the police. Soon after, he disappeared. His body was later found and buried very fast, with no answers from the government.

Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat is a man who should be protecting Kenyans. But instead, his name keeps coming up whenever young people go missing or turn up dead.
People are now asking, if a man trusted to lead the police is being mentioned in such painful cases, who will protect us from the very people meant to keep us safe? Kenyans deserve leaders who serve them, not those who silence them.
On social media, Aoko wrote
“ELIUD LAGAT is reporting back to work at Vigilance House on Monday 14th July 2025. Si washazika Ojwang na his dad akasifu Ruto? Ndio some of the painful realities they’re trying to water down by calling for dialogue in the name of intergenerational conclave. I REJECT”.

Her words have touched many Kenyans who feel the same. Online, people are angry that even after Ojwang’s death, no top official has spoken about it. Instead, those accused are being protected.
Kenyans are now using hashtags like #JusticeForOjwang and #RejectDialogue to demand the truth. Many believe the government is not being honest. Some say they will not accept talks until justice is done for all those who have died during protests.
As more protests are being planned by Gen Zs, it is clear the youth want answers and not empty meetings.
