The Kenya Patriots Party (KPP), founded and led by Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant and businesswoman Agnes Kagure, has emerged among Nairobi County’s most recognised political parties after posting a notable performance in the latest Mizani Africa political party preference survey.
According to the poll released on July 1, KPP attracted 3.4 per cent support among Nairobi voters, placing it fifth behind ODM (25.1%), DCP (21.6%), UDA (14.5%) and Wiper (3.6%). It ranked ahead of Jubilee Party, which registered 0.1 per cent, while other parties collectively scored 1.3 per cent. The survey also showed that 30.3 per cent of respondents had not aligned themselves with any political party.
For a relatively young political outfit, the findings suggest that KPP has established a measurable presence in Kenya’s capital, where political competition remains among the country’s most intense.
The survey also reflects growing visibility for Agnes Kagure, who has steadily positioned herself as one of the leading voices in Nairobi politics through her governance agenda, community engagement and business leadership.
Kagure, who serves as KPP’s party leader, has consistently presented the party as an alternative focused on accountable leadership, improved public services, economic empowerment and restoring efficiency within Nairobi County.
The latest party preference ranking comes as Nairobi’s political landscape continues to evolve ahead of the 2027 General Election, with voters increasingly evaluating both established political formations and emerging alternatives.
Recent opinion polls have also consistently placed Kagure among the leading contenders in the Nairobi gubernatorial race, reinforcing her growing political profile as the KPP leader.
Although ODM, DCP and UDA remain the county’s three largest political parties in the latest survey, KPP’s appearance among the top-ranked parties signals increasing public awareness of the movement and its leadership.
For supporters of the party, the findings offer encouragement that KPP is steadily building its political footprint in Nairobi as it seeks to expand its influence ahead of the next General Election.
The figures are based on the latest Mizani Africa Nairobi County Political Party Preference Survey released on July 1, 2026.
