A new political survey has placed Agnes Kagure’s Kenya Patriots Party (KPP) among the parties attracting support from voters in Nairobi County. The poll, conducted by Mizani Africa and released on July 1, 2026, shows KPP securing 3.4 percent support in party preference rankings.
According to the findings, the party is ranked fifth among those that received measurable support from respondents. The survey placed ODM in the lead with 25.1 percent support, followed by DCP at 21.6 percent and UDA at 14.5 percent. Wiper received 3.6 percent, narrowly ahead of KPP’s 3.4 percent.
Jubilee Party registered 0.1 percent support, while other parties collectively received 1.3 percent.
A significant number of respondents, 30.3 percent, said they did not prefer any political party at the time of the survey.
Growing recognition for KPP
The results provide a view of the current political mood in Nairobi, where several parties continue to compete for public support. For KPP, the 3.4 percent rating is seen as an indication that the party is gradually gaining recognition among city residents.
Led by Nairobi Governor aspirant Agnes Kagure, the party has been promoting policies focused on issues that directly affect everyday life. These include improving public services, supporting youth empowerment initiatives, creating economic opportunities, and addressing challenges facing families in different parts of the county.

Supporters of the party believe that its focus on practical concerns has helped it connect with residents looking for solutions to local problems.
Reaching Out to Residents
Nairobi remains one of Kenya’s most diverse and politically active counties. With people from different social and economic backgrounds living across the city, building political support often requires consistent engagement with communities.
Kagure and her team have continued to interact with residents through meetings and community engagements aimed at understanding local concerns.
The party has emphasized listening to citizens and incorporating their views into its plans for the county.
Political observers note that such grassroots efforts can play an important role in helping newer parties establish themselves in a competitive political environment.
What the Poll Suggests
While the major parties continue to dominate the rankings, the survey suggests that some voters are open to considering alternative political options. KPP’s position just behind Wiper and ahead of several smaller parties points to a growing presence in Nairobi’s political landscape.
The large percentage of respondents who expressed no party preference also highlights a segment of voters who may still be evaluating their options. This group could become important as political parties intensify their campaigns and outreach efforts in the coming months.
Political polls are often used to measure public opinion at a specific moment and do not necessarily predict future outcomes. Voter preferences can shift as new issues emerge, political debates continue, and parties adjust their strategies.
For KPP, the latest findings serve as encouragement to continue expanding its presence across Nairobi.
The party is expected to maintain its focus on community engagement, development, and advocating for the concerns of ordinary residents.
The Mizani Africa poll offers an early indication of where political support currently stands.
Although larger parties remain ahead, KPP’s performance suggests that it is gradually becoming part of Nairobi’s political conversation and may continue to attract attention.
