Technical University of Kenya (TU-K) student Veronica Aloo Okola has represented the university at the 2026 X-Culture Global Business Week Conference held in Italy, further highlighting the institution’s growing participation in international academic and business programmes.
The conference, hosted by X-Culture Global and MIB Trieste School of Management, University of Trieste, took place from August 1 to 8, 2026.
Okola was selected among 150 top-performing graduates from more than 6,000 applicants drawn from over 50 countries worldwide. Ten of the selected participants were from TU-K, placing the university among institutions represented in the prestigious global programme.

The X-Culture programme equips university students with practical international business skills while providing opportunities to work with peers from different countries through virtual collaboration and international business training.

During the conference, Okola worked alongside an international team to develop a five-year growth strategy for Fondazione ITS, Italy’s first contemporary fashion museum.
The project provided the TU-K student with an opportunity to apply her academic knowledge to a real-world international business challenge while collaborating with students from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
Her successful participation earned her an X-Culture Alumni Award Certificate, marking another milestone in her academic and professional journey.
Beyond the competition, Okola’s engagement created opportunities for potential academic partnerships between TU-K and MIB School of Management, University of Trieste.
The development could further strengthen international academic cooperation and create opportunities for knowledge exchange, student collaboration and joint initiatives between the two institutions.

Okola’s achievement also underscores the opportunities available to TU-K students through international programmes, as the university continues to encourage learners to participate in global academic and professional platforms.
