Political Ringside, one of the most vibrant political talk shows in Kenya, has once again positioned itself at the centre of national discourse after hosting a hard-hitting conversation on the place of youth in Kenya’s political future.
Appearing on Political Ringside, political analyst Ndege Sirkal challenged long-held narratives that have, for years, pushed young people into the shadows of leadership.
Speaking during the show, Ndege made it clear that the idea of youths being “leaders of tomorrow” no longer holds water.
“The role of the youth starts now. This thing that youths are the leaders of tomorrow is a thing of the past,” he said.
He pointed to the Gen Z-led protests as a turning point in Kenya’s political history, arguing that the demonstrations proved young people are already shaping national conversations and holding leaders accountable.

“We saw the way the Gen Zs walieka Ruto pressure. I am even surprised that Ruto is currently ametulia sana. Amesau vitu mingi sana,” Ndege remarked, drawing attention to what he described as a noticeable shift in the political atmosphere following sustained youth pressure.
During the discussion, moderated by Vivian Kabiru, Ndege was asked to reflect on the role of young people in the next five to ten years. His response underscored why Political Ringside continues to stand out as a platform for bold, unfiltered political conversations.
“He is talking about Singapore, yet we are behaving like Somalia,” Ndege said, using the comparison to urge young people not to disengage. According to him, youth participation must move beyond protests into structured civic action.
“I think youth engagement, the way we saw from the protests, starts now. Register as voters, keep the fire burning,” he added.

The episode highlighted Political Ringside’s commitment to hosting voices that challenge power, provoke thought, and inspire action. By bringing experts like Ndege Sirkal to the table, the show continues to bridge the gap between political analysis and the everyday concerns of Kenyans, especially the youth.
As debates around leadership, accountability, and the future of the country intensify, Political Ringside is proving to be more than just a talk show. It is fast becoming a space where Kenya’s political future is questioned, shaped, and reimagined, one candid conversation at a time.
