Kenyan comedian and actor Inspekta Mwala has been nominated for the National Civility First Ambassador Award by iChange Nations, in a recognition he says would be a significant personal and professional honour.
Mwala shared the news with his followers on Facebook, expressing gratitude to Her Royal Grace (HRG) Dame Dr Maryleen Thome, whom he credited with nominating him for the prestigious award.
The comedian described the nomination as a moment of humility, saying the recognition would not only be meaningful to him but also to his colleagues and fellow Kenyans.
“I am humbled to have been nominated,” Mwala said, adding that he was hopeful the process would result in him receiving the honour.

The nomination adds to Mwala’s public profile as a familiar face in Kenya’s entertainment industry, where he has built a reputation through comedy and television appearances.
A recognition beyond comedy
Mwala said the award would place him alongside prominent African leaders and statesmen who have also been recognised through the initiative.
He named Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni, former Kenyan Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo among those in the prestigious roll.
For Mwala, the nomination represents an opportunity to associate his public profile with a message centred on civility and positive engagement.
His announcement was met with anticipation as he awaits the outcome, with the comedian ending his message on a hopeful note: “Fingers crossed.”
