MP Kaitany pushes tone-deaf bill as kenyans die in hospitals

Maryanne Kaitany’s push for an internet billing bill has drawn sharp criticism from Kenyans who accuse her of ignoring urgent national issues and focusing on irrelevant legislation.

Hon. Maryanne Kaitany, the ex-wife of former Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi and now Aldai MP, is quickly gaining a reputation for all the wrong reasons.

At a time when ordinary Kenyans are struggling with broken hospitals, rising medical costs and an overwhelmed healthcare system, Kitany seems to be focusing on everything else except what truly matters. Her latest effort in Parliament focused on internet billing regulations, leaving many Kenyans baffled.

While the digital space may need better laws, this is hardly the most urgent issue when mothers are giving birth on hospital floors and cancer patients are being turned away due to lack of medicine. People are suffering because of poor healthcare and their elected leaders are more concerned with internet bills

Even worse, Kitany has supported bills that increase taxes on already struggling Kenyans. Instead of protecting families from unbearable costs, she has backed policies that make life harder for the people who trusted her with their vote. It feels like a betrayal

To make matters worse, she recently criticized how the government is rolling out the new health insurance system. But that raises a serious question. What is she doing about it herself. It is easy to point fingers. What Kenyans need right now is action leadership and real solutions

Kenyans deserve better. They need leaders who show up when it counts. Not those chasing headlines or working on side projects that have little to do with the real pain people are going through. Kitany’s recent record shows a politician out of touch with the ground

As hospitals fall apart and lives are lost due to poor planning and lack of urgency, many Kenyans are left asking what exactly their leaders are doing. In Kitany’s case the answer is sadly clear. Not nearly enough
