Good governanance advocate Eric Janganya has taken the lead over incumbent Embakasi South MP Julius Mawathe in the 2027 parliamentary race, according to a poll conducted by research firm Mwelekeo Insights.
Janganya, who is associated with Linda Mwananchi, records 24.2% support in the Mwelekeo Insights poll, narrowly ahead of Mawathe at 23.2%. ODM candidate Irshad Sumra follows closely with 21.7%.

Janganya leads Mawathe
The poll shows Janganya ahead of Mawathe by one percentage point, with Sumra just 1.5 percentage points behind the incumbent MP.
Mawathe, who is the current Embakasi South MP, is seeking another term on a Wiper ticket, but the findings show him trailing Janganya in the 2027 race.
The three leading candidates account for the bulk of support recorded in the poll, pointing to a closely contested contest for the Nairobi constituency.

Masaki, Ogweno trail top three
UDA candidate Samwel Masaki comes fourth with 11.8%, followed by ODM’s Victor Ochieng Ogweno at 11%.
Jared Oundo, also of ODM, records 4.6%, while Calystus Wafula has 3.4%.
Mwelekeo Insights is a research firm that conducts polls and analyses public sentiment on political, governance, economic and social issues. The Embakasi South survey records the candidates’ support based on the percentages published in its final results.
