Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has raised eyebrows after hinting that Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja could be connected to the sudden and unclear death of Kariobangi North MCA Joel Munuve.
In a post shared online, Babu sent his condolences to Munuve’s family, friends, and colleagues, calling the late MCA a bold and hardworking leader.

But what stood out most was Babu’s suggestion that Munuve may have died because of the tough stand he took against corruption in City Hall.
According to Babu, Munuve had been vocal about the rot in Nairobi County and was working on a motion to impeach Governor Sakaja.
“He raised several issues touching on corruption in Nairobi County and was recently working on an impeachment motion to remove the Nairobi Governor,” Babu wrote.

Babu also warned that Kenyans will not sit back if anyone tries to cover up the truth. “Any attempt to interfere with a thorough and impartial investigation into this unfortunate death will be met with a more severe force from the people of Nairobi and the entire nation,” he added.
He even shared a document said to be part of the impeachment motion, which listed claims of incompetence and corruption against Governor Sakaja.
So far, Governor Sakaja has not commented on Babu’s remarks or the alleged motion.
Police have said investigations into Munuve’s death are ongoing, and they are yet to give a full report on what happened.

Many Kenyans online are now demanding answers, with some supporting Babu’s concerns and others urging leaders to wait for facts. Meanwhile, fellow MCAs and leaders across the city continue to mourn Munuve, remembering him as a fearless young leader who was not afraid to speak out.
