Jubilee Party’s Angel Mbuthia has emerged at the top of a new Kiambu County Woman Representative survey, placing ahead of Rosemary Kinuthia and Mercy Nungari as early political positioning for 2027 gathers pace.
Results available on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, show Mbuthia at 38.1%, followed by Kinuthia at 21% and Nungari at 15.7% in the Mwelekeo Insights poll. The same percentages have also been reported in coverage of the survey.
Mbuthia takes lead
Mbuthia’s 38.1% places her 17.1 percentage points ahead of Kinuthia, who ranks second.
Kinuthia, listed under the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) in the results provided, records 21%.
Mercy Nungari, also of DCP, follows in third position with 15.7%.
The figures put the three candidates at the centre of the latest snapshot of the Kiambu Woman Representative contest.
Wanjiku Ngochi of the People’s Liberation Party follows with 11.9%.
Phyllis Wangui of DCP records 9.7%, while UDA’s Ann Muratha is placed sixth with 3.7%.
The results show a wide spread of support among the six candidates, although Mbuthia remains the only contender above 30% in the latest poll.
DCP contenders trail
DCP has three candidates appearing in the rankings, with Kinuthia leading the party’s group at 21%, followed by Nungari at 15.7% and Wangui at 9.7%.
Mbuthia, however, remains ahead of each individual candidate in the survey.
Mwelekeo Insights describes its platform as one that conducts elections-style polls and tracks community sentiment on political and other public issues.
The results should therefore be read as a snapshot of preferences among people who participated in this particular poll.
