A former employee has come forward with disturbing claims of sexual harassment while working at The Bull, by Karen Meat Factory, a popular entertainment spot located in Nairobi’s Karen area.

The woman, identified as Clare, who goes by the X username @clare9669, shared her experience on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying she was harassed on several occasions by individuals she worked with but chose not to report the matter out of fear of losing her job.

In her emotional post, Clare wrote that the environment at the establishment made it difficult to speak out, especially because the venue was owned or previously owned by a powerful official in the former government identified as Andrew Kahiu.

She said her silence was driven by fear and uncertainty over how the matter would be handled given the influence surrounding the club’s ownership.

“I was sexually harassed close to three times while working at The Bull by Karen Meat Factory. I could not report this to the police for fear of my boss, who was a senior figure during Uhuru Kenyatta’s regime,” read part of her post.

Her statement has drawn mixed reactions online, with many social media users expressing sympathy while others demanded that authorities take the allegations seriously.

Some commentators have also called on former workers and patrons of the club to share their experiences if they witnessed or went through similar treatment.

As of the time of writing, no one from The Bull, by Karen Meat Factory, has been contacted for comment. There is also no record of any official police report being filed in connection with the alleged incidents.

Gender and labour rights activists say the post highlights a broader problem affecting many workers in entertainment venues across Nairobi.

They have urged victims of sexual harassment to speak out and called for stronger legal protection to ensure that justice is not influenced by social or political power.
