There was drama in Rongai after a man raised alarm that a lion was walking around his home. For days, he told Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) that he had seen lion footprints in his compound. He was worried for his family’s safety.
KWS officers came many times to check, but they never saw any lion. Still, the strange prints kept showing up. The footprints looked just like those of a lion three big dots on the ground.
One day, the man decided to check around the house properly. That’s when he found something strange a pair of men’s shoes hidden in his house.

The soles of the shoes had three dots, just like the lion prints outside.
He told KWS, and they came back to investigate. They found out the prints were not from a lion, but from those shoes. The big question became whose shoes were those?
After asking a few questions, the officers discovered that the shoes belonged to another man who had been secretly visiting the house. The woman of the house, the man’s wife, was arrested for giving false information and hiding the truth.
“She said there was a lion, but it was just shoes,” said one shocked neighbour. “And worse, the shoes were not even her husband’s!”
The story spread fast on social media, with many Kenyans joking about the “Rongai lion.” Some said the woman used “lion shoes” to scare people while hiding something else.
