On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, a photograph circulated showing a young man holding a handwritten placard declaring support for Kagure as Nyeri’s next governor. The message comes amid reports that the Nairobi-based politician is considering shifting her political ambitions to Nyeri.
The placard reads, “NYERI COUNTY NA MAMA AGNES KAGURE!!! GOVERNOR.”
The photograph establishes an expression of support but does not, on its own, confirm that an organised protest took place.
Supporter backs Kagure
A social media user identified as Smart Boy also expressed support for Kagure’s possible entry into the Nyeri gubernatorial contest.
“Governor Nyeri County round hii ni Mama Agnes Kagure,” he wrote.

He added, “Na ndireda mataro ma mundu,” which he explained as a call for sober leadership rather than leaders who create divisions.
The remarks reflect the qualities this supporter says he wants in Nyeri’s next governor.
Kagure, a businesswoman with a background in insurance, has previously pursued the Nairobi governorship and participated in political activities in the capital.
Her possible move to Nyeri would mark a significant change in her political plans.

The remarks attracted attention amid speculation that she could shift her political activities to Nyeri.
