The poll recorded 2,771 voters and 2,771 valid ballots, with no rejected ballots reported.

The results come as political discussions across Mombasa continue to take shape ahead of the 2027 elections. The wider political contest in Mombasa has drawn attention as different leaders and political formations prepare for upcoming races.

What the poll means for the 2027 race

The Mwelekeo Insights figures provide a reference point for assessing the candidates’ standings among participants in the October poll. However, the results do not determine the outcome of the 2027 election, which will be decided by voters at the ballot.

The poll also comes amid broader political mobilisation along the Coast, as leaders engage supporters and prepare for the next electoral cycle.

For the candidates, the published figures offer a measure of support within this particular poll. Future political developments, campaigns, party nominations and voter choices will shape the contest as the election approaches.
