President William Ruto has dared his critics and competitors to meet face him in the ballot box during the upcoming 2027 presidential race. Speaking while presiding over the official launch of affordable housing program in Wajir county on Wednesday, Ruto asked them to stop early campaigns and allow him to finish his first term as the elected president of Kenya.

In his sentiments president Ruto is on a mission to change the country and he can be scared by anyone because he has been an MP, the Deputy President and now the president.

“How can you look for votes forever everything you do is about looking for votes for now I am the leader of Kenya, and I am going to lead we meet at the ballot in 2027. There is a difference between leadership and politics. Wait there are no elections this year or next year the elections are in2027 now is time to work and I will change this country. Let me ask you, I have been an MP for 15 years, I have been a deputy president for 10 years now I am a president, do you think you can beat me?” the president said.

The head of state dare comes as political heavyweights in the country start to eye powerful slots as the country gears up to the upcoming polls. The opposition now led by former impeached deputy president Rigathi Gachagua  have vowed to form a strong alliance that will unseat the current president.
