The Kenyan Government has disbursed Ksh. 3.52 billion for the February 2025 cycle of the Inua Jamii Programme, benefiting 1,761,897 registered recipients. This initiative, administered by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection through the State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs, aims to support vulnerable populations across the country.

According to an official press released today, the funds amounting to Ksh. 3,523,794,000 began distribution on March 10, 2025. Each beneficiary will receive Ksh. 2,000 as part of their stipend for the February payment cycle.

The Inua Jamii Programme targets older persons aged 70 and above, caregivers of orphans and vulnerable children, and caregivers of individuals with severe disabilities.

Joseph M. Motari, Principal Secretary of the State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs, encouraged beneficiaries who have yet to register their phone numbers to visit any Safaricom or M-PESA agent to ensure they can receive their stipends without delay.

This disbursement reinforces the government’s commitment to social welfare, ensuring financial support reaches those most in need while leveraging digital platforms to enhance efficiency and accessibility.
