Political Ringside has once again positioned itself as a premier arena for sharp, credible and trending political analysis after hosting Jubilee Party National Youth Chairperson Angel Mbuthia for an in-depth conversation on the party’s future.

In a detailed engagement that has since sparked discussion across digital platforms, Mbuthia confirmed that Fred Oko Matiang’i is Jubilee’s presidential candidate for 2027.

She described him as a seasoned administrator with government experience and argued that his leadership would steer the country toward a more technologically driven future.

Mbuthia maintained that the push behind Matiang’i’s candidature is youth-driven, dismissing claims that he is a political extension of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to her, young Kenyans have rallied behind him because of his record in public service and perceived firmness in decision-making.

She also addressed Jubilee’s internal stability, noting that despite turbulence in recent years, the party remains intact and focused. Mbuthia asserted that Jubilee has weathered infiltration attempts and reorganised its structures in preparation for the next electoral cycle.

On the role of Uhuru Kenyatta, she clarified that he remains party leader by democratic choice of delegates, serving primarily in an advisory capacity while encouraging generational transition within the party ranks.

Youth leadership takes centre stage

Political Ringside’s platform further explored youth participation in governance, with Mbuthia calling for greater representation of young people, especially women, in decision-making spaces.

She revealed her intention to run for Woman Representative in Kiambu County, citing issues such as access to sanitary products, gender-based violence, and stronger legislative oversight as priorities.

The conversation underscored a broader shift in political engagement, where young leaders are seeking influence not only through rallies but through structured dialogue and digital mobilisation.

By facilitating substantive and focused discussions, Political Ringside continues to build its reputation as a trusted space where political narratives are unpacked with clarity and precision.

As Kenya edges closer to the 2027 election cycle, the platform remains at the forefront of shaping conversations that matter, providing audiences with grounded analysis beyond headlines and speculation.
