Inclusive National Justice, Economic & Civic Transformation (INJECT) party leader Morara Kebaso has issued a strong warning to Kenyan youth over hastily advocating for President William Ruto’s removal without careful planning.

Speaking through a video statement, Morara urged the younger generation to critically evaluate the leadership alternative they propose ahead of the 2027 General Election. He stressed that unthoughtful actions could result in a leadership crisis, replacing Ruto with someone potentially worse.

Caution Urged in Leadership Transition Push

Morara emphasized that the office of the president does not experience a power vacuum, meaning any ouster would lead to an immediate succession.

Without prior strategic thinking, Kenyans could end up installing a leader mirroring the shortcomings they aim to eradicate.

“The presidency doesn’t allow a waiting period for deliberations. If you remove Ruto without preparing, you might elect another Ruto for five more years,” he warned.

The activist, renowned for his government accountability campaigns, also called on Kenyans to honor the memory of Gen Z protesters who lost their lives during the June 2024 demonstrations.

He cautioned against allowing corrupt former leaders to exploit the political dissatisfaction for their own gain.

Morara further criticized the growing divisions among young people, stating that political elites continue to manipulate ethnic tensions for personal gain.

“Young people are fighting each other over old politicians who dine and steal together, only pretending to oppose each other for public drama,” he lamented.

In his continuing crusade for change, Morara highlighted the dangerous role of tribalism in Kenya’s political landscape. According to him, blind loyalty to tribal kingpins has repeatedly denied the country competent leadership.

Looking ahead to 2027, Morara revealed plans to form a “grand alliance” of leaders driven by integrity rather than tribal affiliations. He vowed that this movement would prioritize vision, competence, and national unity over ethnic loyalty.

“This time, we will unite leaders of integrity who are committed to transforming the country. We must vote beyond tribes and prioritize a shared vision for Kenya’s future,” Morara concluded.
