Nelson Amenya, the bold whistleblower who first exposed the JKIA-Adani deal last year, is at it again. This time, he claims the government is working on a secret plan to hand over control of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to a company from Dubai.
During President Ruto’s recent visit to Beijing, there were signs that the government was looking to bring in foreign firms to improve the airport. Amenya believes this visit might be connected to the new deal.
Although he did not name the Dubai company, he hinted that it could be tied to the Adani Group, the same Indian firm involved in the previous airport deal that caused a public outcry before it was cancelled.
Amenya also raised concerns about how the government plans to fund the new arrangement. He said there are signs the deal may rely on Kenya’s public funds as a guarantee, which could put taxpayers at risk if things go wrong.

He questioned why any serious investor would need such a guarantee if the project was truly worthwhile.
The 30-year-old whistleblower became known last year after leaking documents that showed secret plans to lease JKIA to Adani Airport Holdings.
The public response was swift and critical, pushing President Ruto to cancel the agreement, especially after Adani officials were named in a major corruption case in the US.
These new claims come shortly after reports that Kenya has secured a loan of Ksh193 billion from the United Arab Emirates, with a high interest rate of 8.2 percent.
Amenya believes the timing is not a coincidence and is warning Kenyans to stay alert. His latest allegations have stirred fresh concern over how the government is handling national infrastructure and public finances.
