Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has issued a stern warning to leaders he claims are behind the deadly violence in Ang’ata Barikoi, Narok County threatening to release a damning expose about them.
Speaking after five people were killed and several others injured in clashes over a contested 6,000-acre parcel of land, Gachagua vowed to name and shame those sponsoring the chaos.
In a statement on his official X account, Gachagua condemned the killings and described the forceful eviction of residents as “a crime against humanity.”

“My heart goes out to the families of the innocent lives lost. This forceful displacement is criminal. I’m gathering evidence, and we will expose those behind it,” he wrote.
The former DP accused a section of leaders of greed, alleging they were fueling the violence in pursuit of land and wealth. He also questioned the deployment of elite police units like the GSU and RDU, demanding to know who authorized their shoot-to-kill actions.
“What kind of nation are we building where civilians are met with bullets for defending land they’ve lived on for decades?” he asked.

Gachagua’s remarks come amid growing criticism of state response to the unrest. Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen confirmed five civilian deaths and several police injuries but urged patience as investigations continue.
As calm remains elusive in the area, pressure is mounting on the government to hold both state and non-state actors accountable.
