Aden Duale, the Health CS has once again landed into the spotlight following claims that not every Kenyan will be qualifying to benefit from SHA coverage despite having registered and paying all premiums as required.
This follows the emergence of report that an anonymous citizen who sent message blogger Cyprian Nyakundi couldn’t qualify for SHA coverage if he or she has an outstanding Hustler Fund Loan.
The anonymous went on to share a screenshot showing the sms he or she received from Taifa Care instructing that for one to be covered by SHA they must ensure that they have clean records with Hustler Fund, an entity that isn’t related to Health in any way.

“Hi Nyakundi. I just saw your post and want to highlight a critical issue with SHA and the Hustler Fund. If you have an outstanding Hustler Fund loan you cannot benefit from SHA health insurance. This means anyone already in debt with Hustler Fund is barred from accessing health coverage through SHA.
“This linkage effectively locks out many informal workers from affordable health insurance just because they have an existing loan. It’s a serious problem that needs urgent attention,” reads a message sent to blogger Cyprian Nyakundi via his DM.
That aside, if that true, then CS Aden Duale will have several questions to answer owing to the fact that each and every Kenyan is entitled to receive SHA coverage and get relevant benefits as long as this premium payments are up-to-date by the time of submitting claims.
Also, the development comes barely days after he insisted that those who fake Health conditions such as Juja MP George Koimburi who allegedly staged abduction will be barred from getting SHA benefits forever.
