East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament Kanini Kega has announced the death of his mother in a heartfelt message shared on X, drawing sympathy and support from leaders, friends, and followers across the country.
In the emotional post shared on Friday, the former Kieni MP expressed the pain of losing his mother, saying the loss had left him devastated and heartbroken. Although he did not reveal details about the cause of her death or when she passed away, his message reflected the deep sorrow the family is going through.
“I am devastated and heartbroken! It’s well with my soul; however, it is difficult to believe that my mother has rested. Its painful,” he wrote.
Soon after the post was shared, many Kenyans flooded the comment section with messages of comfort and prayers to encourage him during the difficult moment.
Democracy for Citizens Party leader Rigathi Gachagua also mourned with the EALA lawmaker and his family, revealing that Kega had just travelled to the United Kingdom after being assigned duties only to receive the sad news shortly after arriving there.
“It is with profound sadness I have learnt the passing on of Mama Annah Nyatoro Wairimu, mother of EALA MP Hon. @kaninikega1, early today. It is only yesterday that I gave you an assignment to the United Kingdom as my younger brother only for you to arrive and receive the sad news,” Gachagua said.
He further sent his condolences to the larger family, relatives, and friends while praying for strength during the mourning period.
“The loss of a mother is painful; may God grant you and your family strength to bear the loss,” he added.
