The Kenya Meteorological Department has forecast occasional rainfall in some regions later this week, while other areas will continue experiencing dry and hot conditions.
According to Director General Dr. David Gikungu, the rains are expected in Western Kenya, the Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Central Kenya (including Nairobi), the Coast, South-Eastern Lowlands, and sections of the North.
Meanwhile, other parts of the country will remain sunny, dry, and hot, with maximum temperatures rising above 30 degrees Celsius. However, minimum temperatures could drop below 10 degrees Celsius in areas such as the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, Central and South Rift Valley, and regions around Mt. Kilimanjaro.
For areas around the Lake Victoria Basin and sections of the Highlands in the Rift Valley, residents should expect sunny intervals during the day, with possible morning rains and afternoon showers.
In the North Rift Valley, covering Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Baringo, and West Pokot counties, daytime conditions will be mostly sunny with scattered clouds, while nights will be partly cloudy.
In South-Eastern counties such as Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta, light showers with sunny intervals are expected during the day, while nights will remain partly cloudy.
For the Coast region, hot daytime temperatures will persist, though some areas may experience morning, afternoon, or nighttime showers.
The Meteorological Department advises residents in the affected regions to stay updated with weather forecasts and take necessary precautions.
