Seth Okute has emerged as the leading candidate in the race for the Karachuonyo parliamentary seat after securing 49.5 per cent in a poll conducted by Mwelekeo Insights.
The final results placed the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) aspirant ahead of independent candidate Felix Obuya, who finished second with 19.5 per cent.
Sam Ogutu, another ODM aspirant, came third with 9.8 per cent, while Fred Makajos followed with 5.6 per cent.
Hannington Day secured 4.5 per cent, ahead of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) aspirant Ramadhan Odhiambo, who recorded 3.8 per cent.
Adipo Okuome received 2.2 per cent, while Jeff Ongoro garnered 2 per cent. Both were listed as ODM aspirants.
UDA’s Collins Okendi registered 1.8 per cent, independent candidate Kennedy Obuya received 0.8 per cent, while ODM’s Carilus Ademba completed the rankings with 0.5 per cent.
The results give Okute a 30-percentage-point advantage over his closest challenger and place him firmly ahead of the other ODM aspirants seeking the Karachuonyo parliamentary seat.
Combined, the seven ODM-affiliated aspirants listed in the survey secured 74.1 per cent. Independent aspirants received a combined 20.3 per cent, while UDA aspirants registered 5.6 per cent.
