Police officers have apprehended two persons of interest following the recovery of 770 rolls of bhang during an operation in Korogocho, Nairobi County.
The National Police Service (NPS) said the operation was conducted in the Grogon B area on Sunday, September 27, 2026, by officers attached to Korogocho Police Station in Starehe Sub-County.
The officers were reportedly conducting a routine patrol when they received information from members of the public about people allegedly packaging illicit drugs inside a residential premises.
Police raid premises
According to police, officers acted on the information and raided the premises, where they apprehended the two persons of interest.
During the operation, police recovered 770 rolls of what they identified as bhang, which they said had been packaged for distribution.
The two were taken to Korogocho Police Station, where they were placed in custody pending arraignment in court.
Police said the recovered cannabis was secured and will be presented as an exhibit as investigations into the incident continue.
The NPS thanked members of the public who provided information that led officers to the premises.
“Illicit drugs and narcotic substance abuse destroy lives, fuel crime, and tear apart the social fabric of our communities,” NPS said.
NPS issues warning
The police service said it will continue operations targeting illegal drug trafficking networks across the country.
NPS also urged members of the public to provide information on suspected drug trafficking and other criminal activities through police stations and its emergency reporting channels.

The Korogocho operation adds to ongoing police efforts targeting the possession and distribution of illicit drugs in Nairobi and other parts of the country.
