People’s Party of Kenya leader Ndindi Nyoro has hit out at a section of opposition leaders, accusing them of sending people to attack him politically and warning that he will not seek permission to run his political activities.
Speaking during the event on Monday, September 7, 2026, Nyoro said the People’s Party had entered the political space to serve Kenya and did not need approval from other opposition leaders to operate.
He said several opposition leaders had worked with him and attended the launch of his party, but accused some of them of misinterpreting the respect he had shown them as weakness.
“I want to send this straight message to them: Next time mkitumana Ndindi Nyoro atukanwe, wacha kutumana! Na wacha kusema sijui mtu ya wapi, kijana ya wapi. Mention the People’s Party by name! And mention Ndindi Nyoro by name! Tutaonana na wewe macho kwa macho,” Nyoro said.

Nyoro draws the line
The former Kiharu MP said he had supported several opposition leaders in their political activities, including during discussions surrounding the selection of a running mate.
Nyoro also said he stayed out of the impeachment process, arguing that he did not participate because he considered it unfair.
He questioned why some leaders were now attacking him despite his previous support for them.
“Wenye anataka kurudi kwa Ruto, rudi kwake muulizane na yeye! Kama unataka pesa yake, wewe enda wachana na mimi! Na kama unataka mfanye kazi na yeye, urudi huko uwachane na mimi!” he said.
His remarks come amid continued efforts by opposition leaders and political formations to position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
‘We will work’
Nyoro said he had no intention of spending time responding to opposition leaders who questioned his political strategy.
He maintained that the People’s Party would work with leaders willing to cooperate with it, while those opposed to its activities should chart their own political path.
“I have no time to waste hapa kwa opposition eti tunaulizana maswali maswali. Mimi siko hapa kuelezwa na mtu vile nitafanya campaign zangu,” he said.
“We will do the work with those who want. Those who do not want can stay. We are not begging anyone.”
Nyoro’s remarks signal growing tensions within opposition circles as political parties and leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 contest.
