Bolt Kenya has rolled out a 40 per cent discount for new users, in a fresh campaign aimed at giving first-time riders a more affordable and convenient way to move around.
The offer was amplified by comedian and Bolt ambassador Inspector Mwala, who urged Kenyans to take advantage of the discount while introducing themselves to the ride-hailing platform.
“Attention wandau! Attention wandau! New users of Bolt wanapata 40% discount on rides. Hiyo si ni deal swafe swafe? Ride with Bolt in Kenya ufurahie,” Inspector Mwala wrote.
The campaign comes at a time when ride-hailing services continue to play a central role in urban transport, especially for Kenyans looking for flexible, cashless and app-based mobility options.
Safety-first mobility
Bolt has continued to market itself as a safe, reliable and affordable ride-hailing option in Kenya, with the app allowing users to request rides, track trips and access key in-app safety tools.
The company has in the past announced several safety-focused features, including driver verification, trip monitoring, emergency support options, trip sharing and tools aimed at improving safety for both riders and drivers.
In February 2026, Bolt also announced an enhanced driver safety feature allowing drivers to flag locations they consider high-risk, with the platform reviewing and verifying the information before mapping such areas in the app.
New users targeted
The 40 per cent discount is expected to attract first-time riders who may be looking for a cost-friendly way to test the platform.
For many users, the appeal of Bolt lies in its blend of affordability, convenience and app-based safety controls, including ride details, driver information and real-time trip visibility.
The campaign also strengthens Bolt Kenya’s consumer-facing image at a time when passengers are increasingly paying attention not only to price, but also to safety, reliability and user experience.
New users can access the discount through the Bolt app, subject to the terms and conditions of the promotion.
