Internal Security Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo is facing fresh questions after blogger Cyprian Nyakundi accused him of operating an expensive online communication network.

Nyakundi says that nearly KSh30 million is released monthly to finance the team. He has not published contracts, payment vouchers or an official budget supporting the figure.

“I stand by my words, and Raymond Omollo is free to take me to court,” Nyakundi wrote on X on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

“In court, he can explain the Sh30 million monthly fake communication team, the questions surrounding the Lake Basin scandal and the allegations linked to MP Charles Were death.”

Nyakundi demands financial records

Nyakundi challenged Omollo to disclose the team’s budget, contracts, staff list, salaries and performance reports.

He questioned whether taxpayers receive any measurable value from the reported expenditure. He described the operation as a propaganda network used to insult and attack government critics.

The blogger further named digital communications professional Ng’endo Murugu as the person he believes heads the operation.

Murugu’s public profiles identify her as the founder of Digital Impact Communication Solutions Africa Limited. She regularly shares content supporting Omollo and government activities.

However, her association with Omollo does not establish Nyakundi’s assertion that she manages a publicly funded operation.

The accusations nevertheless place Omollo under pressure to clarify whether the communication team exists, how it is financed and what services it provides.

Omollo yet to respond publicly

Nyakundi also revived questions about Omollo’s previous leadership of the Lake Basin Development Authority.

He further referenced the killing of former Kasipul Member of Parliament Charles Ong’ondo Were.

No police finding or court record cited by Nyakundi establishes a connection between Omollo and Were’s killing.

Nyakundi’s accusations therefore remain unproven. He has invited Omollo to challenge them in court, where evidence could be formally tested.

As of Thursday, July 23, Omollo and the Interior Ministry had not issued a visible public response addressing the specific KSh30 million figure.
