What began as a love story found online has ended in heartbreak for the family of 23-year-old Rael Moraa, whose death in December 2025 remains unsolved.
Her father, George Nyagucha, says he is still searching for answers months after his daughter’s body was found along the Naivasha-Nakuru highway.
According to the family, Rael met a 73-year-old man from the United Kingdom through an online dating platform.
Although her father was worried about the large age difference, Rael believed she had found true love.
“My gut feeling told me something was not right, but my daughter insisted she was deeply in love with the foreign man,” Nyagucha said.
The man travelled to Kenya in February 2025, and during his visit, he reportedly promised to buy Rael a house in Naivasha.
However, after he returned to the UK, the relationship reportedly became complicated.
The family’s nightmare began on December 6, 2025, when Rael called her father to tell him she had received a notice to vacate her house.
That was the last time he spoke to her.
A few days later, her body was discovered dumped along the Naivasha-Nakuru highway.
A postmortem established that she died from blunt force trauma to the back of her neck.
Despite the findings, the case has not been solved.
“There are several people of interest, but unfortunately no one has been arrested. It leaves more questions than answers,” Nyagucha said.
The family says they are also facing a legal battle over a house that Rael co-owned, adding to their pain as they continue to mourn her.
Nyagucha is now appealing to investigators to reopen the case and bring those responsible to justice.
“I am in total darkness. I don’t know what is happening, and all my efforts to contact my late daughter’s former lover have been unsuccessful,” he said.
