DCI confirms arrest of a notorious Homa Bay goon Abdi Sebo

Detectives in Homa Bay County have apprehended eight individuals, including a man identified by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) as a goon mobiliser, following a coordinated police operation at Homa Bay Bus Stage.

The operation saw officers apprehend Kassim Abdi Sebo, who had been sought following a warrant issued by the Homa Bay Law Courts on August 14, 2026.

In a statement, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said officers tracked down Sebo to the busy bus stage, where they moved to execute the court-issued warrant.

However, the operation took a dramatic turn after seven individuals accompanying Sebo allegedly attempted to prevent officers from carrying out their duties.

Seven others apprehended

According to the DCI, the seven men attempted to obstruct the officers during the operation, prompting police to apprehend them alongside Sebo.

The seven were identified as Achiando Victor Odhiambo, Isaac Masika Muliro alias Waigo, Oyeke Geoffrey Moses, Geoffrey Nchore, Odhiambo Wesley Arnold alias Mwas, Joseph Kabira, and Alfred Nyagino.

The eight individuals were subsequently taken into police custody for processing ahead of their expected appearance in court.

The DCI did not disclose the specific offence underlying the warrant issued against Sebo or provide further details about the circumstances that led to the court order.

DCI issues public appeal

Following the operation, the investigative agency reiterated its appeal to members of the public to share information that could assist detectives in combating criminal activities.

Through its #FichuaKwaDCI initiative, the agency encouraged Kenyans to provide information anonymously through its toll-free hotline, 0800 722 203, or WhatsApp number 0709 570 000.

The DCI maintains that information provided through the reporting channels can assist officers in identifying persons of interest and coordinating investigations.

All eight individuals remain in police custody as they await processing and arraignment before a court of law.
