Tycoon Agnes Kagure teases new political party, vows better governance for Nairobi

Nairobi businesswoman and city tycoon Agnes Kagure has sparked fresh political talk after sharing an old newspaper front page showing how close she was to becoming Nairobi Governor in 2022.

Kagure posted the photo on her social media with a caption that caught the attention of many.

“TBT, just before my former party pulled a last-minute trick that left Nairobi disillusioned. We learn from the past, and this time, we are leaving nothing to chance in our quest to provide alternative leadership. Mbele iko Sawa!”

The post has been seen by many as a sign that Kagure is preparing for a new political move, possibly with a new party. Her words suggest she is focused on correcting what she sees as past mistakes and offering what she calls “alternative leadership” for the capital city.

Supporters online praised her courage and shared their excitement about her return to the political scene. Some said Nairobi needs fresh ideas and leaders who put the people first.

In 2022, Kagure was among the top names in the race for the city’s top job before her plans were affected by her then political party’s sudden change of direction.

Now, it seems she is ready to try again, but this time with more control over her path.

With Nairobi facing many challenges such as poor services, traffic, and corruption, many residents may be looking for new faces and better leadership.

If Kagure indeed starts or joins a new party, she could shake up the city’s political field once more.

For now, all eyes are on her next move.
