The Public Service Commission (PSC) has ranked the top government institutions based on their adherence to values and principles outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution.
In the report released on Wednesday, March 12, Kibabii University emerged as the best-performing institution.
The university was followed closely by the State Department for Lands and Physical Planning, Kenya Trade Network Agency, and the State Department for Agriculture.
Other institutions that made it to the top 10 include Konza Technopolis Development Authority, Anti-Counterfeit Authority, Dedan Kimathi University of Science and Technology, Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, Ewaso Nyiro South Development Authority, and the State Department for Co-operatives.
PSC stated that the evaluation focused on key areas such as service delivery enhancement, adherence to high professional ethics in public service, and performance management.
Additionally, the assessment considered factors such as equitable distribution of opportunities and resources, public involvement in policymaking, and efficiency in resource utilization.
The Commission also examined good governance, transparency, and accountability in the institutions.
“The overall compliance index for all the 508 institutions evaluated was 43.8% compared to 46.0% in the previous year evaluation (2022/2023),” the report stated.
“This was a moderate score, indicating that there were gaps and room for improvement in adherence to values and principles in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution.”
