Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has offered what he calls a “very simple” strategy that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and the opposition can use to defeat President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election.
Amisi, a strong ally of ODM leader Raila Odinga, said the opposition must stop depending on tribal politics and instead focus on unity and getting young people to register as voters.
According to the MP, that is the only real way to kick Ruto out of State House.
“Forget about tribal arithmetic. The solution is very simple – come together, speak one language, and get the youth to register and vote. That is the only weapon stronger than money or power,” Amisi said in a message shared on X (formerly Twitter).
The MP further claimed that President Ruto is using public money to fund bloggers and some leaders in Nyanza to support his growing relationship with Raila. He said this is part of a plan to silence ODM voices that don’t support the so-called “broad-based government.”
“Ruto is paying bloggers to attack those of us who oppose this forced union. But no matter what they do, the ground is not changing. Kenyans are tired,” Amisi said.
He also sent a message to Deputy President Gachagua, who has publicly disagreed with Ruto on several issues, especially on matters of power-sharing and the role of Mt. Kenya in government.
“To Gachagua – if you really want to lead or bring change, don’t fight. Just rally the youth and unite the people. The votes will speak louder than any insults,” Amisi added.
As tensions continue to grow within ODM, with leaders like James Orengo and Edwin Sifuna at odds with the party’s current direction, Amisi insisted that 2027 will be a turning point if the opposition remains focused and strategic.
