A new platform aimed at elevating African entrepreneurship and connecting innovators to global opportunities has been launched ahead of the upcoming Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi.
Dubbed Nova Garage, the initiative brings together a coalition of partners including the French-African Foundation and the Autonomous Advancement Initiative, alongside Concerto and Nuvision Media, to create a space dedicated to showcasing the continent’s emerging technology leaders.
The Nova Garage showcase will take place from May 11 to May 17, 2026, at the KNT, as part of the broader Africa Forward Summit.
A Platform for Visibility and Opportunity
Nova Garage is designed to provide young African entrepreneurs with direct exposure to investors, policymakers, and business leaders from across the globe. A select cohort of 15 entrepreneurs under the age of 35 will be chosen through a pan-African application process, offering them a chance to present their innovations on an international stage.
The platform targets innovators working across key sectors including energy, agriculture, mobility, and finance, reflecting the diversity of solutions being developed to address Africa’s most pressing challenges.
Applications are currently open, with organizers encouraging eligible founders to apply ahead of the April deadline.
Positioning Nairobi as a Continental Innovation Hub
The launch of Nova Garage reinforces Nairobi’s growing reputation as a leading technology hub in Africa. Often referred to as the Silicon Savannah, the city continues to attract startups and investment, making it a strategic location for an initiative focused on innovation and value creation.
By hosting the platform in Nairobi, organizers aim to highlight Kenya’s role in driving digital transformation across the continent while creating new pathways for entrepreneurs to access capital and partnerships.
Driving Partnerships and Collaboration
At the core of Nova Garage is a strong emphasis on collaboration. The initiative seeks to strengthen ties between African innovators and international stakeholders, particularly in fostering connections between Africa and France.
Organizers say such partnerships are critical in unlocking investment, accelerating innovation, and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs to scale their ideas beyond local markets.
The involvement of multiple partners underscores the importance of coordinated efforts in building sustainable innovation ecosystems across the continent.
Beyond an Event
While Nova Garage will feature prominently during the Africa Forward Summit, its ambitions extend beyond a single gathering. The platform is envisioned as a long-term initiative that will continue to support entrepreneurs through networking, visibility, and collaboration opportunities.
It also introduces a broader framework that encourages African countries to take an active role in shaping the future of technology, including emerging areas such as artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure.
A Shift in Narrative
The launch signals a shift in how African innovation is being positioned globally. Rather than viewing the continent solely as a market, initiatives like Nova Garage emphasize Africa’s role as a creator and co-owner of future technologies.
For young entrepreneurs, Nova Garage offers more than exposure. It represents a chance to be part of a growing movement that is redefining Africa’s place in the global innovation landscape.
As the application process continues, attention now turns to the next generation of founders who will take the stage in Nairobi and present solutions that could shape the continent’s future.
