Global streaming star IShowSpeed sent Kenyan fans into a frenzy after hitting a massive 48 million YouTube subscribers in the middle of his high-energy visit to Nairobi.
The American content creator could barely contain his excitement as he broke the news mid-air, crediting Kenya for helping him reach the new milestone.
“We hit 48 million subscribers in the helicopter. We did it, bro. Kenya has taken number one spot,” he exclaimed during a livestream.
IShowSpeed’s Kenyan tour kicked off on Sunday morning with a surprise visit to Upper Hill School, where he interacted with students and joined them for a basketball game, sparking excitement across the school.
From there, the streamer headed to Kenyatta Market, where large crowds gathered to take photos and videos, turning the busy marketplace into a fan zone.
Later in the day, he visited Nairobi National Park, attracting an energetic convoy of fans on motorcycles along Lang’ata Road, all eager to catch a glimpse of the internet sensation.

The highlight of the day came in the evening when IShowSpeed made an unplanned appearance in Nairobi’s Central Business District. Hundreds of fans swarmed his convoy, with boda bodas and cars trailing behind as crowds rushed across streets to record videos.
The brief stop caused temporary disruption in parts of the CBD, underlining the streamer’s massive influence among Kenyan youth and digital audiences.
He wrapped up the day with a scenic helicopter ride over Nairobi, where he celebrated crossing the 48-million-subscriber mark.
President William Ruto also welcomed the streamer, sharing a warm message on social media.
“Jambo IShowSpeed, welcome to Kenya. Karibu Kenya. Kenya is not just another country, it is a feeling. Kenya is home,” the President said.
IShowSpeed’s Kenyan visit is part of his ambitious “Speed Does Africa” tour, a 28-day live-streamed journey across the continent. The project aims to showcase Africa’s culture, landscapes, talent, and people to a global audience.
The streamer is expected to visit 20 African countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Morocco, Egypt, Senegal, and Rwanda, among others.
