Mwelekeo TV has decoded why Kenya currently needs a youthful president and how that vision can be achieved.
Through its latest YouTube episode, the platform hosted ODM Youth League Rapporteur Davis Bin Oluoch and presenter Fridah Mongare to discuss the question, Is Kenya ready for a youthful president?
In the episode, Oluoch shared both the promise and the challenges of generational leadership. He said, “We have the numbers, the energy, and the ideas but what remains is trust and the political space to exercise them.”
He noted that while young Kenyans make up more than 70 per cent of the population, they remain excluded from real power and decision-making. Without access to leadership roles or resources, their potential remains underused.

The discussion reflects Mwelekeo Insights’ long-standing work in research and public opinion studies. The firm has built a strong reputation for conducting reliable studies on social, economic, and political issues in Kenya.
For example, in its 2025 Nairobi marriage and polygamy survey involving 2,687 women aged 18 to 30, 51 per cent said they would consider joining a polygamous marriage if economic conditions were favourable, while 49 per cent opposed it.
Another part of the study showed that 60 per cent of respondents feared marriage would limit their personal freedom, and 59 per cent believed marriage is not necessary for a fulfilling life. Among highly educated and career-focused women in Nairobi, 67 per cent said marriage was not a priority.
These findings highlight a society that is changing rapidly, where tradition, gender expectations, and economic realities continue to influence each other.

Mwelekeo Insights has also explored topics such as bride price, political trust, and youth participation in governance.
Through these studies, the firm has positioned itself as one of Kenya’s leading research institutions, producing data that not only measures public opinion but also drives national dialogue.
As Kenya faces questions about generational leadership and inclusive governance, Mwelekeo Insights remains a credible source for understanding the numbers and the stories behind them.
