Influencer reveals how Pauline “Jezebel” Njoroge misused them

An online influencer has accused political communicator Pauline “Jezebel” Njoroge of allegedly taking millions meant for bloggers while paying them small amounts for their work.

The influencer, identified as Victor General, shared his claims on social media, saying he was part of a team of bloggers who worked under Njoroge during what he described as the “Mama Boyz” online campaign.

Victor said about 25 bloggers were involved in the initiative and were promised future opportunities after completing the assignment.

Bloggers paid KSh5,000 each

According to Victor, the bloggers were each given KSh5,000 for a week’s work and were told the task was meant to position them for future political communication jobs.

“I worked under her on that Mama Boyz work. We were 25 bloggers. That week she gave each of us KSh5,000 and told us she was looking for jobs for us with Gachagua,” Victor wrote.

He said they were made to believe that the assignment was meant to impress senior leaders so that they could later secure steady work.

However, Victor claimed the bloggers later learned that the project had been allocated much more money than what they were paid.

“Kumbe alikuwa ashakula KSh2.2 million na sisi alitulipa 5k each, that’s KSh125,000. She pocketed about KSh2 million,” he wrote.

Victor also claimed that the bloggers later began questioning how the funds were handled after seeing Njoroge travelling abroad.

“Now I understand how she was travelling to Spain, Italy and other places with our sweat,” he said.

Old Jubilee blogging claims resurface

Victor’s remarks surfaced hours after former Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu also spoke about the structure of online political mobilisation in the past.

Wambugu said that when the Jubilee Online Army started in 2016, funds used to be channelled through Pauline Njoroge to pay bloggers working under the team.

“In 2016 when we started #JubileeOnlineArmy I used to give Jezebel 300k a month to pay her team of 10 bloggers on behalf of a certain PS,” Wambugu wrote.

The statements have sparked debate online about the operations of political blogging teams and how payments were handled.

Pauline Njoroge had not publicly responded to the claims at the time of publication.
