Iconic KAW 091V Mercedes hearse leads emotional Tala procession for Moses Muthama

The iconic black Mercedes-Benz E-Class limousine hearse, registration number KAW 091V, has once again taken center stage in Kenya.

Known for its elegance, reliability, and association with the country’s most high-profile funerals, the hearse is considered the ultimate choice for state and private burials.

On Saturday, February 14, the hearse carried the body of the late Moses Muthama, son of former Senator Johnson Muthama, through Tala streets in a somber procession.

Flanked by posh vehicles, police outriders, the vehicle ensured a dignified final journey for the deceased, leaving a solemn atmosphere among mourners.

Valued at more than Ksh10 million, KAW 091V has become closely associated with the transportation of Kenya’s elite and political figures.

The limousine has also been used to carry the remains of other notable individuals, such as slain businessman Jacob Juma at All Saints Cathedral, former Minister George Saitoti in 2012, and political leaders like John Michuki and Njenga Karume.

Built for both elegance and practicality, the black five-door E-Class hearse can accommodate three people a driver and two family members boasting an extended wheelbase and rear deck.

With an impressive overall length of 5,999 millimeters, it surpasses the length of the S212 E-Class station wagon, offering generous space for dignified transport.
