Fantana blasts Diamond after Lagos concert mention

A fresh round of drama has erupted on social media after comments made during a live music event sparked a sharp reaction from one of the people mentioned.

The exchange involves Ghanaian artiste and reality TV personality Francine Nyanko Koffi, known as Fantana, and Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz, following his concert appearance in Lagos, Nigeria.

The issue began during Diamond’s performance when he interacted with the crowd and asked whether he was a playboy. When the audience responded positively, he followed up with a question that included Fantana’s name, asking, “Who said Fantana?” That brief moment on stage quickly spread online and appears to have triggered Fantana’s anger.

Shortly after, Fantana took to her Instagram stories to vent her frustration. She accused Diamond of being obsessed with her and questioned why he would keep mentioning her name publicly, especially if he was truly settled in his marriage.

Her posts were direct and emotional, calling on him to stop dragging her into his public moments and to focus on his own personal life instead.

She wrote, “If you’re so happy in your fake marriage, why are you mentioning me on stage? Why is my name always in your mouth? Please let my name rest, @diamondplatnumz. Imagine having a whole concert in Lagos and still getting on stage to mention MY NAME.”

In another post, she added, “Don’t irritate me this evening! You are so OBSESSED with me! Make my name rest, o! Leave me alone and face that fake marriage that you are using for social media, with that fake small, cheap, invisible ring. @diamondplatnumz, you will know more of me if you keep playing!”

This public exchange has brought back memories of past revelations involving the two entertainers.

Months earlier, Diamond Platnumz openly admitted that he cheated on fellow singer Zuchu with Fantana. Speaking on a podcast on August 6, 2025, he shared details about what happened during the filming of the Netflix reality show Young, Famous & African, where both he and Fantana were cast members.

Diamond explained that he presented himself as single on the show so that he could pursue Fantana, even though he was already involved with Zuchu.

“During the show, I was after someone. How could I say I have a girlfriend back home? I had to lie that Zuchu was just my artiste,” he said.

He also spoke about how his relationship with Zuchu developed over time, stating, “Zuchu started as my artiste. Feelings just grew gradually. I love her, and it is something amazing and beautiful.”

While on the show, Diamond and Fantana were shown spending a lot of time together, sharing close moments, and even dealing with a pregnancy scare, which Diamond later said he would have accepted. Fantana later explained that she did not know Diamond was involved with someone else because he repeatedly insisted he was single.

Diamond later tried to downplay the situation by saying much of what viewers saw was scripted.

“It wasn’t something deep. It was just something for the moment. That playboy character was for the show. It was not meant to hurt Zuchu. None of it is true in real life,” he said.

Despite warnings from other cast members, he continued to deny his relationship with Zuchu on screen, insisting, “No, I don’t. She is my artiste.”
