City tycoon Agnes Kagure has once again moved Nairobians and Kenyans at large with her heartfelt message on World Polio Day, reaffirming her deep commitment to public health and child welfare.

Through a powerful statement shared on her social platforms on Thursday, October 24, 2025, Kagure, one of Nairobi’s most vocal voices on health and social empowerment, praised health workers across the country for their relentless fight against preventable diseases, including polio.

“True leadership means safeguarding the next generation. As we join the rest of the world in marking World Polio Day, let’s recommit to ensuring no child in Nairobi, or anywhere in Kenya, is left behind in the fight against preventable diseases. We can do it,” Kagure said.

She added, “I stand in solidarity with the rest of the world on World Polio Day, joining hands with every health worker, parent, and leader who continues the noble fight against polio to keep our children safe.

Leadership, to me, is about bettering and protecting life and we must ensure that no child in Nairobi, or anywhere in Kenya, is left behind in the fight against polio. Together, we can achieve a polio-free future for all. Inawezekana.”

Kagure, a long-time advocate for inclusive health systems, emphasized the need to strengthen community health initiatives in Nairobi and beyond.

She urged both government and private stakeholders to invest more in disease prevention rather than waiting to respond to outbreaks.

She noted that health workers remain the backbone of Kenya’s public health success story, often working under difficult conditions to protect the nation’s children.

“The real heroes are the men and women in our hospitals, clinics, and local communities who make the dream of a healthier Kenya possible,” she said.

In what many observers have described as a sign of her growing influence in Nairobi’s political and civic space, Kagure hinted at a bold health plan that focuses on improved vaccination coverage, enhanced maternal care, and better working conditions for frontline health workers.
